Hush Puppies ads golden for agency
Star Tribune Staff Writer
Advertising created by the Fallon McElligott ad agency, Minneapolis, for Hush Puppies shoes won two top awards from the Art Directors Club in New York. The two gold awards were among 11 that the agency won, more than any other entrant--which were among 50 national awards chosen from 1,155 entries.
Among the agency's winners was an ad labeled "Ventilated Hush Puppies" showing a fan blowing the ears of the brand's trademarked Basset Hound. Another shows the dog with pictures of children's shoes and the headline "Itty Bitty Hush Puppies."
Art director Bob Barrie and copywriter Jarls Olsen created the newspaper and magazine ads.
